Painter Ryan Sullivan’s abstract canvases exhibited at Manhattan’s Maccarone gallery embrace environmental affects and the chemical reactions of paints layered on top of each other. By tilting the canvases and waiting for time and gravity to act on the canvases Sullivan creates highly textured, fascinating surfaces.
