Regina Loft

2010

The original warehouse space has beautiful exposed timber columns and beams. Since they dominate the space and appear at times in the centre of living spaces, the loft renovation emphasizes them as a design feature. In the kitchen, a column becomes the central spine for a floating countertop and dining table. A mid height wall cantilevers off the column separating the dining area and bedroom and another column supports a desk in the study.

The client loves to entertain so the kitchen and dining area dominate the loft. The dining table is ten feet long to accommodate a sizeable dinner party. Custom made benches and barstools of fir 2x6s compliment the central butcher block table and kitchen floating countertop and complete the central social space.
